In this symposium, three world experts in methodological and trial design will speak about innovative frameworks for the development, optimization, and evaluation of preventive interventions. Drs. Daniel Almirall, Linda Collins, and C. Hendricks Brown will present on adaptive interventions, whereby interventions are tailored over time, and agent-based modeling, in which modeling tools are used to simulate how components of intervention processes and structures interact, producing a distribution of outcomes. Dr. Richard Jenkins, Health Sciences Administrator at NIDA and project scientist for NIDA’s rural opioid initiative, will chair the meeting.
