Recent shifts in public policy and discourse have led many within the prevention science community to wonder what role they might play. In particular, what should be done to increase the impact of efforts to translate research into evidence-based policy? The SPR Advocacy Committee will convene a roundtable to discuss a growing number of opportunities to engage with policymakers within and outside the Society. The roundtable will provide a forum to discuss the past and recent efforts in evidence-based policymaking and highlight efforts by prevention researchers and advocates. Strategies for prevention scientists of all career levels will be discussed. Further, this roundtable will seek to identify action steps for SPR’s outreach work going forward.
