3-025 BROWN BAG SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP MEETING VIX: FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR RESEARCH-PRACTICE PARTNERSHIPS AND TO STUDY THE USE AND USEFULNESS OF RESEARCH EVIDENCE

Schedule:
Thursday, June 1, 2017: 12:00 PM-1:00 PM
Concord (Hyatt Regency Washington, Washington, DC)
Speaker/Presenter:
Kimberly Ann DuMont
There is considerable distance between the research and youth outcomes. Despite high stakes of omitting or misusing research evidence, too often research is absent from deliberations about programs and practices for youth and too often researchers create researcher agendas without input from policymakers and practitioners. In addition, we lack a strong evidence base to demonstrate the value of social science research when it is used. This session will present funding opportunities to support investigations that take up these challenges and to incentivize research-practitioners partnerships to reduce inequalities in youth outcomes.
