Have you ever wondered how successful investigators build a strong research program? Do you wonder how they decide where to seek their funding given the array of opportunities offered by different federal agencies like NIH, CDC, and ACF? During this session, established scientists will offer perspectives on building a research program from the ground up, with an emphasis on finding the right match with a funder and the right complement of funding sources depending on the nature and stage of the research. The session will commence with introductory remarks outlining federal funding opportunities and distinctions between selected federal funding sources.
