The availability of tenure-track academic positions has significantly declined in recent decades. Also, these positions may not be ideal for the innovative, interdisciplinary work that many early career preventionists seek. The traditional mentoring model in academia can make it challenging to find and apply for non-academic careers, but individuals with graduate training in prevention science are well poised to be successful in these careers. This year’s ECPN Luncheon will include panelists that represent a variety of professional experiences outside of academic settings.
