The goal of this SIG is to brainstorm innovative, creative, and feasible ways of ensuring that our annual conference is as informative and engaging as possible. We plan to discuss the current structure of the conference in terms of offering plenaries, organized panels, round-table discussions, and large poster sessions as well as smaller organized poster forums. We will identify the strengths and challenges of these methods in stimulating discussion and interaction, and consider potential revisions to the current format (e.g., adding “speed presentations” like Pecha Kucha, Ignite, Blitz or Lightening). We also hope to discuss new technologies for delivering information (e.g., Prezi, eposter boards, etc.), and ways of encouraging presenters to take advantage of these methodologies and/or ensure their presentations take into account not only the information to be delivered but also the quality of delivery and methods of engaging participants.
